Fantastic stay at this new hostel. Everything is well organized and clean. Location is the best, right on the lake, and the vibe is friendly. Very easy to meet people in their own bar inside the hostel. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

I was excited to stay here, and I was not disappointed. The beds are very comfy, and the view of the lake is stunning. Incredible friendly staff with great excursions to participate in. I met some fantastic people here as well, so an excellent stay for solo travelers.

The hostel was beautiful, it was located right by the lake. The hostel offered some great activities such as Stand Up Paddling (which was nice, I recommend the sunset tour) or BBQ evenings. Also, I heard this is one of the better hostels in the small town (which has minimal accommodation options) and that the best cozumel jeep tour is really fun.

This place has an excellent location near the main square of Bacalar and in front of the lagoon. We reserved 2 bedrooms for 2 couples which were clean, modern, and with a great view. The only downside for us was that as it is targeted for many young people traveling and backpackers, night activities tend to be quite noisy.

I’m so happy we ended up at the Yak! Such a friendly and social atmosphere, clean rooms, and the best sunrises! They also arrange fantastic activities such as guacamole night, beer pong tournaments, and board game afternoons. Some of the people we met there have been our absolute favorite travel buddy’s, and we ended up traveling to Belize with 11 other people – all from the yak.

The hostel has a beautiful view, my room had a nice picture with a big window where you can see the sunset and the fantastic colors of the lagoon. The breakfast is good, the person in the hostel is very kind. Definitely, I’ll be back.

This is probably the most beautiful view from my dorm bed that I have ever had – looking straight out to the lagoon. Paradise. The hostel is friendly with a free drink on arrival. I met some friends here, and we ended up traveling to Belize and Guatemala together. Would definitely go back to this hostel!
